Delicate Chinese-style (chinoiserie) decoration was developed by J.G. Höroldt at the Meissen factory during the early 1720s. He invented a wealth of imanginary designs on Chinese themes for his team of decorators to use, usually involving figures in exotic gardens, alone or sometimes grouped with children and animals.
