Object history | Les Contes russes contained four miniature ballets based on subjects taken from Russian folklore: Kikimora, Bova Korolevich, Baba-Yaga and Kolyada-Molyada. The entire ballet was produced at the Théâtre du Châtelet in Paris on 11 May 1917 and in the Teatro Costanzi in Rome in the same year. Kikimora with music by Liadov and choreography by Massine was first produced at the Teatro Victoria Eugenia in San Sebastian, Spain, on 25 August 1916. |
