Cardboard cover sleeve for two 12" long-playing records, 'The Serpent (In Quicksilver)' and 'Abandoned Cities', recorded by Harold Budd for Land Records. The front of the cover design is for 'The Serpent (In Quicksilver)', a stylised photograph of an orange-coloured arid landscape with a dark-blue sky. The reverse is the cover design for 'Abandoned Cities', a black and white photograph of the top of a building facade from the early 20th century. Both sides feature a thumbnail image of the other cover.

Historical context
'LAND Records forms part of the Opal Group of Companies. Founded in 1984, Opal now represents Brian Eno, Daniel Lanois, John Paul Jones, Jon Hassell, Harold Budd, Roger Eno, Michael Brook, Laraaji, and visual artists Russell Mills and Andrew Logan .
