General Description: Thomas Hammersley Esq. (1748-1812) Banker (BM:P.2) Half length facing three quarters right. British. Lettered with name of sitter and Engraved by Richd. Golding, from an original Picture by Hamilton of Dublin. Inscribed in pencil on the back, possibly in a dealer's hand framed / 6 April 822 and premiere de superbe Epreuve sur papier des Indes. With the marks of the collections of G. Ritter von Franck (1807-1860)(Lugt 1152) and Frank A. Gibson (d.1976) on the back.
