Although trained as an engineer, Sir Ove
Arup (1895-1988) and the firms he founded
have had an enormous influence and direct
effect on the architecture of this century.
Working, often uncredited, with almost all
the major British architects since the 1930s
and many more worldwide, Arups have
turned concepts into buildings. Although
primarily engineers Arups have latterly also
become architects in their own right. Aztec
West is a business park strategically located
at the junction of the M4 and M5. It was
inteded to promote the estate by
employing well known and innovative
architects and engineers to provide a
working environment of a much higher
standard than most business parks.
