Portrait of Henry Irving as Dr. Primrose, (The Vicar) and Ellen Terry as Olivia in W.G.Wills's (1828-1891) adaptation of The Vicar of Wakefield by Oliver Goldsmith (1730-1774). Terry first performed the role of "Olivia" at the Royal Court Theatre in 1878. This image shows a scene from a revival of the play at the Lyceum Theatre in 1885.
