This silvered bronze medal depicts a seated figure representing the City of Tunis, behind whom the city itself is seen, and beneath which is a bird's- eye view of the port. There is also a legend in Arabic characters. On the reverse side there is a female figure, symbolising Peace and abundance, riding on a sea-horse in the harbour of Tunis, and holding an olive-branch and a cornucopia; the city is seen in the distance. The medal is signed 'Louis Bottée.'

Medal of silvered bronze, struck from a die. Obv.: in the centre is a seated figure representing the City of Tunis; the city itself is seen behind, and beneath is a bird's- eye view of the port. The legend reads, VILLE DE TUNIS- LE 28 MAI 1893 EN PRÉSENCE DE S.A. ALI PACHA BEY DE TUNIS DE MR GUÉRIN GARDE DES SCEAUX DE FRANCE DE MR POINCARÉ MINISTRE DE L'INSTON PUBLIQUE ET DES BEAUX-ARTS MR CHARLES ROUVIER RÉSIDENT GÉNÉRAL DE LA RÉPUBLIQUE FRANÇAISE- A DÉCLARÉ LE PORT DE TUNIS OUVERT A LA NAVIGATION- MR MICHAUD ÉTANT DR GAL DES TRAVAUX PUBLICS.
