This is the obverse of a Medal, reproduced by the electrotype process in silvered copper. It depicts a female figure representing Chile sits on a throne with an olive-branch in her right hand, and a sword in her left. By her side is a shield with the arms of that republic, and at her back is a condor, perched on a throne, with a star above. To the left, two femaile figures, representing Peru and Bolivia, are doing homage; they hold broken shields, having the arms of those states. At the right is a winged genius holding a flaming torch, and standing by an avil, a cornucopia, a beehive, and emblems of science and art. The exergue is filled with a cartouche bearing the following legend:- CHILE EN PAZ CON EL PERU. I. BOLIVIA 1884.
