The pattern consists of interlaced bands, knotted at intervals, forming ogival compartments which contain in horizontal rows either a device of a pomegranate and two roses issuing through a crown, or a rose and two pomegranates on one stem. Certain details of the pomegranates are rendered in looped silver metal-wrapped thread (bouclé) and the leaves of the roses are enriched with flat, silver-gilt strips (lamé).
