| Object history | One of two cups with 414:646-1885 (Sch. I 486) These pieces were purchased by Lady Charlotte Schreiber from Sayer, Bordeaux, for £1 10 shillings in October 1875. In her Journals (vol. I, p. 371) she records: 'The Sayers have not nearly such good stock as they had previously, but we found ... two very curious Worcester cups, bearing a forged Sèvres mark, and (in gold) the date 1782'. |
