Gombroon is the name given to a distinct class of Iranian pottery, usually white, with a fine hard body. Gombroon is the European name for Bandar-e Abbas, the main trading port on the Persian Gulf. In 1758 an English writer described Gombroon ware as "...little else, but a total vitrification', because of its glass-like thinness.
