Figure, in soft-paste porcelain painted in enamels and slightly gilded, of an actor, perhaps intended for David Garrick, standing on an oblong plinth, and wearing a pink sleeved cloak with yellow lining thrown over one shoulder, a white tunic with a pattern of stars, partially unbuttoned, red breeches and shoes, and white stockings, and his right hand rests on a book lying open on a panelled pedestal on the front of which are suspended a mask, a dagger and a wreath, and the book is inscribed with the words of which 'The cloud cap ... the gordeous' are legible.
