Edward Barnard and Sons Ltd., one of the leading London silver manufacturers was one of the oldest, tracing its ancestry back to its originator Anthony Nelme ca.1680. In 1910 the firm converted into a limited liability company with family members as directors, operating from Hatton Garden. In 1977 it became a subsidary of Padgett & Braham. The multifarious productions of Edward Barnard and Sons Ltd. in silver and electroplate were supplied to almost every retail business in Britain in the 1920s and 1930s.
