A.E. Harvey, architect and industrial designer, received his original training as an artist at the Royal College of Art, the Slade School and the Royal Academy School. As Head of the School of Industrial Design at Birmingham School of Art, he was made a Freeman of the Worshipful Company of Goldsmiths' (London) for his contribution to its improvement of design schemes in 1926 and 1927.
