This is the obverse side of medal in cast bronze. It shows Michel Eugène Chevreul as an old man, to the right with the legend:- MICHEL EVGENE CHEVREVL MEMBRE DE L'ACADEMIE DES SCIENCES. Chevreul was a French chemist credited with the discovery of margarine. The reverse of this medal is No. 660-1894.
