Porcelain bowl with everted rim, footring with coarse sand adhering. Round the rim runs a border of stylised sprays of tree-peony and chrysanthemum, painted in overglaze iron red with foliage in green and turquoise enamels outlined with black. Below this runs a broad border composed of large sprays of these flowers alternating with motifs representing islets painted in iron red and green, each with a three-storied pagoda and banner in turquoise flanking a pinnacle of rock. In the centre, two arhats with their familiars, a dragon and a tiger.
