This proof was for an illustration to page 11 of the Wine Society's Christmas list for 1986 (see E.697-1994). Though it was hand coloured, the outline image was printed in pale blue, a technique devised by the artist John Lawrence (born 1933) for a more successful photo-mechanical reproduction of the black areas.
