Bob the Builder made his worldwide television debut on CBBC in the UK on April 12. He is a building contractor who, along with friends and a range of anthromorphised vehicles get to work building and fixing things around the village where he lives. His famous catchphrase is "Can we fix it?" to which his friends answer "yes we can!".
This play set includes the characters Scoop - a yellow backhoe loader and the unofficial leader of all Bob's machines. His catchphrase is "No prob, Bob!". The second vehicle is Travis, Farmer Pickles' tractor.
Bob and characters have become firm favourites with younger children as well as achieving cult status among older viewers. Bob and his friends stop frame animated characters have had 2 number one hit records, the first with his theme tune to the television programme in 2000, the second in 2001 in his version of the pop song, Mambo Number 5.

Physical description | Cardboard boxed playset containing 14 coloured plastic parts associated with the tractor, digger and building and construction theme of the toy. The box has a levered lid and underneath reveals all the parts behind an transparent acetate screen all set in a pre moulded blue plastic tray. The main parts of the set are a yellow plastic digger truck called "Scoop". The truck is a character from a television show and so has the human qualities of moving eyes on the front of the truck. It has 2 smaller and 2 larger black wheels and articulated front and back scoop digger operation. The second vehicle character in the set is "Travis" the tractor a green plastic tractor with a red and black front grill and two character eyes in place of headlights. Both vehicles have moving parts and have friction powered movement. The set also includes 2 plastic orange traffic bollards, 2 brown plastic barrels, 2 black tyre stacks containing 3 tyres each, 2 sign posts one with a silhouette of a cat (Pilchard) one of a workman in a hard hat (Bob the Builder?) 2 pink plastic piles of bricks, a yellow plastic skip. All these parts of the set are made from hard formed plastic. The final part is a folded coloured plastic play mat which folds out flat to become a building site ground scene. |
