One bird was purchased by Lady Charlotte Schreiber from Mr Baldwin's sale, Forster's, for £2 10 shillings in May 1876 and the other from Willson, London, for £6 in April 1877. Based on the 'Little Black and White Duck', Pl 100, Edwards, The Natural History of Uncommon Birds.
