Sauce boat with scrolled loop handle of soft-paste porcelain painted with enamels, and round the top are festoons of flowers, fruit, and foliage moulded in relief, and the base is moulded with two goats' heads and two boys' masks among scrollwork, and the inside is painted with a bouquet tied with ribbons, and the outside with scattered flowers, sprays and insects.

Object history | One of a pair with 414:333/A-1885 (Sch. I 129A). Shape copies silver sauceboats by N. Sprimont. The pair was purchased by Lady Charlotte Schreiber from 'Mr Thackery's sale', Christie's, for £16 in June 1870 |
