Preliminary matter includes half title page, title page, dedication, preface, contents, list of plates, and errata (one page, 14 lines). Illustrated plates bound before text of each part.
Includes four small sewn-in 32-page booklets of advertisements for E. Moses and Son, in parts 9, 10, 11, and 16. Many volumes include opinion pieces on the United Kingdom's Corn Laws.
Pale greenish-blue wrappers illustrated by Phiz. Advertisements on pages 2-4 of wrappers on each part. Advertisements on page 4 of wrappers are all for "Mechi, No. 4, Leadenhall Street, London".
Bound in original, illustrated, green wrappers; wrappers display advertisements; paper browning and brittle; glassine guardsheets for plates; housed in 2 separate volumes containing 10 numbers each; each set protected by a folding envelope enclosure and stored within a full red morocco slipcase: false raised bands; gilt lettering and decoration on spines
