He is the manager of the hotel in Saratursk which is commandeered as the headquarters of the White Army, and is seen looking after some of the White soldiers in the restaurant. It is in this hotel that Countess Alexandra (Marlene Dietrich) is welcomed by General Andreyevich (Peter Evan Thomas), and is treated with kindness and respect after her suffering at the hands of the Reds (Stencil No. L.F.P.22/15.)'
