The sleeve art is an abstract design, suggestive of marked and stained concrete or metal sheeting. The design is repeated on all parts of the compilation set.

Marks and inscriptions
  • Lettered on front of cover with the album title and the names of numerous bands that were signed with 4AD.
  • Lettered in black on the back of the sleeve with 'MADE IN ENGLAND', the 23 Envelope logo, the 4AD logo and catalogue number 'CAD D 703'.
  • 'LONELY IS AN EYESORE CAD D 703' (Lettered in white along the spine.)
