Wedgwood manufactured this jasperware figure of Josiah Wedgwood I (1730–1795) in 1980 to commemorate the 250th anniversary of the founder’s birth. The figure of Wedgwood’s founder, Josiah Wedgwood I (1730–1795) has traditionally played a large part in the company’s celebration rituals. Josiah’s life and achievements have provided inspiration for everything, from commemorative vases, mugs, and plates to magnificent public events.
