Charlie Kiss was born in London in 1965. A seasoned activist, he stood up for peace, sustainability and equality throughout his life. His 2017 memoir 'A New Man: Lesbian. Protest. Mania. Trans Man' (first published by Matador) charts moving onto the Greenham Common anti-nuclear site from the age of 17 and subsequent time spent as a political prisoner for direct action including the breaking down of fences there in 1983, his transition in 2002, and becoming the first trans man to run for parliament in the UK as a Green party candidate in 2015.
