Object history
This cloak was part of a 'dress of honour' given to the donor's grandfather, the 4th Earl of Aberdeen, by the Bey of Tunis, and donated by Lord Stanmore of Ebury Street, London, in 1920. The rest of the garments from the 'dress of honour' (T.81 to 86-1920), including another cloak, two jackets, two waistcoats and a pair of trousers, were lost quite soon after acquisition, and were written off in 1939.
