Series: Mahler Becomes Political, Beisbol. A suite of 15 plates with a frontispiece and title page. Printed by Kelpra Studio Ltd., 1964-67 and published by Marlborough Fine Art Ltd., London, 1967. Each signed by the artist in pencil, except E.1376, 1384 and 1385 which are signed in white chalk Kitaj. E.1374, 1375, 377-1382, 1384, 1386 and 1387 all numbered in pencil [E.1386 numbered twice] and E.1376 numbered in white chalk 20/70. E.1383 and 1385 are not numbered. The frontispiece also numbered in ink 20.

Techniques: Colour screenprint, E.1372, 1378 and 1380 with collage.

Object history
Suite orginally housed in a cream cloth and grey card slip-cover tied with grey ribbon with green felt-lined inside flaps, inside which is an orange leather-bound portfolio box with grey paper lining. On box ‘KITAJ MAHLER WILLIAMS’ in black on spine and on the front within a square border in black ‘MAHLER / BECOMES / POLITICS / [dashed line in red] / BEISBOL’.
Dims. of box: 90.5 x 65 x 4cm.
Condition of box: Scuffs and stains. Felt discoloured at edges.
Box is unnumbered and stored elsewhere, currently (2011) at the back of '1st Mezz' in the National Art Library.
