This place setting and photograph were created to mark the fifth anniversary of the Grenfell Tower fire. Leading up to Queen Elizabeth II’s Platinum Jubilee, community-led organisation Justice4Grenfell worked with a team of creatives to host a street party. A table with places for the 72 people who died 14 June 2017 was set and photographed. The images were distributed to news organisations in time for morning broadcasts on 30 May 2022.

The Grenfell Jubilee Street Party disrupts the tradition of street parties and commemorative tableware for Jubilee celebrations. It is an act of remembrance and engages the media in ongoing calls for justice.

Justice4Grenfell campaigns on behalf of the bereaved families, survivors and local communities in the face of inaction since the fire. Names of those who died and the phrase, ’72 Dead. And Still No Arrests? How Come?’ are printed on the paper plate. (04/04/2023)
