Born and raised in China, Zhao Jinya discovered a passion for glass whilst living in Hangzhou, China. Her work uses opaque and transparent layered blown glass to deliberately obscure the interior of the specific enigmatic forms. The straight, linear form is used in combination with soft curved form to create a heightened sense of balance.

Sculpture in the shape of a glass dome, semi-transparent orange in colour, revealing inner structure in the form of a ball, a disc and another ball stacking in sequence on top of a raised base, also made in glass and in a range of pink-violet colour; inside the raised base there is a cone-shape structure which can be vaguely seen from the outisde.
