Object history
The caption reads: In the beautiful Augustus forest / lie hundreds of thousands of dead Germans/ The enemy has been made mincemeat of, and then/ pushed into the blue river Niemen to swim. The trunks of the trees to the left may possibly spell something but apparently not `Augustovo'. Lubok of Today was only published from August-November 1914.
