Forest explores the politics and process of urban reforestation in Chinese cities. From 2010 to 2017, Preston photographed the transplantation of mature trees from their natural environments and nurseries to shopping centres and subway stations. Here, a row of uprooted trees stands in its new habitat in western China. Blanketed in biodegradable netting and plastic film, the trees require specialist care to help them survive in these new and unfamiliar conditions.
