Object history | Alison Britton remarked that she thought “they could have done better” for the design of a mug for the father of a leading potter. Jimmy Britton, father of the potter Alison Britton, had a distinguished career in the teaching of English, ending as Head of the English Department in the Institute of Education, University of London. The National Association for the Teaching of English was founded in 1963, and Prof. Britton was its chair from 1972-1973. This mug illustrates the production of a small run with personalised decoration that can be ordered cheaply. |
