Glazed and printed on white body, with an image of Kermit the Frog in green on a red oval ground, framed in a brown baroque form. This is repeated. Between these two images are the words “The Muppet Show” in red and “Kermit” in dark brown.

Object history | Part of a large collection of mugs acquired in 1991. It aims to illustrate the various uses of the 'Mug as bearer of message' over the past decade. The Muppet Show, and also Sesame Street in which Kermit appears, were amongst the most popular of children’s television programmes of the 1970’s and 1980’s. Invented by the late Jim Henson. |
