Place of origin

Founded in 1996, the company Micro Mobility Systems popularised the scooter as a form of urban transport for adults and children. In his quest to develop a form of micro mobility to travel short distances without the use of a car, Wim Ouboter developed a space-saving folding scooter, a ground-breaking concept that changed the way we travel around cities.

Since the conception of the initial scooter design, Micro Mobility Systems has developed scooters for a wide range of users and purposes. The Micro Mini is a scooter for children 2 to 5 years. It has a lightweight collapsible frame, three wheels and a lean to steer mechanism. It has become the bestselling and most profitable product of Micro Mobility and is found in homes across Europe.

Kids catch on

Wim initially designed the Micro Scooter for adults like himself, who needed a quick, easy way to travel short distances. But his scooter quickly became popular with children.

Children’s products have to have different safety features. This led to the Mini Micro, with two front wheels, designed for safe, balanced fun. It’s not possible to steer the wheels, so instead riders lean to turn.
