Dress

2016
Artist/Maker
Place of origin

This dress was designed by Italian designer Barbara Casasola (b. 1984). Casasola launched her eponymous label in London in 2012 before rebranding to CASASOLA and relocating to Florence, Italy in 2019. This dress debuted on the catwalk for the label’s Spring/Summer 2016 collection, presented at the Serpentine Gallery during London Fashion Week. The dress is typical of the designer’s sleek, minimalist and monochrome approach, employing a stretch knit textile in a silhouette that is fitted along the torso and gently flared from the hips. The dress is made from FSC (Forest Stewardship Council)-certified viscose yarn, meaning that the wood used to make the viscose fibres came from responsibly managed, fully traced forest plantations and therefore does not contribute to illegal deforestation.
