Object history
Designed for Blackmoor House, Selborne, Hampshire, which Waterhouse designed for the EArl of Selbourne between 1866 and 1882. An ebonised chair from the same commission, which illustrates the influence of the Art Movement of the 1870s, is in the Museum's collection (W.42-1975).
