On recto: 'April twenty ninth. Abbot. St. Hugh.' On verso: 'St. Hugh. Abbot. Feast: April 29. St. Hugh the Great of Cluny entered Religion at an early age and advanced rapidly to positions of authority. During his sixty years as abbot, he became adviser to nine Popes, and to many of Europe's sovereigns. With St. Gregory VII, he promoted a powerful spiritual revival throughout Europe. In spite of his high position, he humbly waited on the lepers and other sick with his own hands. Prayer. St. Hugh, teach us charity and humility. Make us, as you were, accessible to all who seek our help, both lowly and lofty. Heavenly 80. Printed in Italy.'
