Marks and inscriptions
On recto: 'March fourteenth. Abbot Martyr. St. Arnold.' On verso: 'St. Arnold. Abbot Martyr. Feast: March 14. He shares the city of Padua with the more renowned St. Anthony. The tyrant Ezzelino, rebuked by this saint for his vices, retaliated by loading St. Arnold with chains and imprisoning him at Asola, where after eight years of tourture, he died. Prayer. St. Arnold, pray for us, that we may be bound around with the chains of God's love and held steadfast in His service!'
