Object history | Part of a set of six plates CIRC.494 to 499-1974. This set of six images is in trichromatic colour-separated screen print on Doulton blanks. The process involved printing on transfer paper in ceramic pigment and transferring the image to the plate which was then fired to 800 degrees C. and maintained at that temperature of one hour. Each plate is signed and numbered on the back in platinum. The technical achievement lies in the use of four superimposed half-tone screen printed colours. The six images are a development of a series of screen prints done over three years and which originated from photographs taken in France and Berlin by the artist. |
