Physical description | A leaded bronze bell shaped mortar with two cast-in projecting handles in the form of horse heads terminating in foliage. Decorated around the rim with guilloche with, below acanthus overlapping water leaf on a cyma recta moulding. on the body, fleshy foliage scrolls springing from a single leaf, alternating with female masks with rosettes above. A gadrooned bowl and plain moulded foot. |
