Hans Stofer has created a dramatic arena for
a porcelain bird. This cheerful, everyday figure
might otherwise have attracted little attention.

significance of the objects that surround us.

Physical description | Sculptural work, comprising a found porcelain figure of a bird (probably a Chaffinch) within a bone china bowl. One side of the bowl has been broken away, and the broken edge gilded, so that the opening frames the figure. The base of the figure and the interior of the bowl are fitted with metal plates, which allow three small magnets to hold the figure in place withing the bowl. |
