Bone china loving cup with wide cylindrical body and a circular opening, three handles are placed at equal distant positions around the circumference of the mug. The handles are scroll-shaped with a central cusp pointing inwards and a nick at the base. The sides are painted in colours with 3 panels, enclosing pink trellis with a circular medallion in the centre showing the E.E.C. countries, with the arms of the 9 member nations of the E.E.C. on the shields. The backs of the handles, the rims of the mug and 3 raised bands just above the base, are gilded.
