Re:Imagining Musicals, 15th October 2022 - 4th February 2024 Fairy Tales 1872 Hans Christian Anderson’s fairy tales have inspired many musicals, including Stiles and Drewe’s Honk! (1993) based on The Ugly Duckling. The Walt Disney Company turned The Little Mermaid into an animated film musical in 1989 and later embraced Anderson’s 1844 fairy tale The Snow Queen to create Frozen (2013) and Frozen II (2019).
