Place of origin

The Bing & Grøndahl factory was founded in 1853 and rose to be one of the two largest ceramic manufacturers in Denmark, alongside competitor Royal Copenhagen.

During the 1880s, Chinese and Japanese glazes caught the attention of Danish ceramic artists and factories. This small vase made 100 years later by Edith Sonne Bruun demonstrates the continuity of this tradition and the skill of an artist celebrated for the intensity of colour she achieved.
