Object history | Tallboy, bequest of Miss Phyllis Marjorie Walker of Sunfield, Pangbourne Notes from R.P. 79/28 Miss Walker's will lists as "Tallboy - walnut circa 1720" 30/11/78 memo, Hardy to Thornton of 8 items bequeathed, John Hardy recommends acceptance of 3 items including the tallboy. He notes "we would not wish to display any of the pieces in our Primary Galleries…most suitable for loan". Molesworth & Lowe concur. In the end six of the 8 items are accepted. 26/4/79 letter, John Hary to Miss Walker's solicitors The tallboy is valued at £800. |
