In the form of a chest on a stand. Two doors enclose 15 small drawers veneered with oyster cut veneers with holly cross-banding. Brass drop ring handles. Cornice with cavetto moulding. The doors are veneered on the outside with matches panels of walnut with cross-banded borders, and on the inside with oyster-cut veneers within geometrical cross-banding. In the lower part of the chest one long drawer veneered with walnut with cross-banded border. Brass handles and key hole escutcheons with pierced back-plates. The stand is supported on four cabriole legs with pad feet and contains one long and two short drawers with shaped apron below. The drawers with walnut veneer panels within cross-banded borders. Brass handles and keyhole escutcheons with pierced back-plates. Walnut linings to interior drawers, oak lining to the remainder.

provides information requested by Haywood.

"The Walnut Cabinet No.W3-1947 which is at Aston Hall has been examined and the information you require is as follows:

1. Height 5 feet. Width 3 feet 6 inches. Depth 1 foot 8 inches.
2. The legs are original but the brackets are missing.
3. The interior and exterior handles are original with the possible exception of two on the stand drawer.
4. "Oyster" walnut with Holly cross-banding.
5. Cabinet drawer linings are walnut with the exception of one front which is deal. Stand drawer linings are oak.
6. Centre vertical joint with matched inner banding and mitred cross banding on the outside edges.
