Until 1996 every immigrant facing detention and deportation had the right to be heard in court, where the judges would base their decisions on factors such as length of residence, family and community ties, and work history. Today many immigrants face mandatory detention and deportation without any of these previous considerations. The pamphlet aims to immigration system and provides non-US citizens the knowledge and resources to fight against the deportation process.
