Object history | Provenance: Ex coll. Countess of Guildford; Sir Hugh Walpole; Ruthven Todd. Costume note:- The women in this drawing have extremely fashionable, high-dressed and braided hairstyles which indicate a date in the late 1820s/early 1830s. This makes the attribution to Fuseli problematic, as he died in 1825, possibly a little too early to have been able to draw such hairstyles. - Daniel Milford-Cottam, 02/09/2015 |
