Place of origin |
The hard grey body of this round-bodied stoneware jar has traces of natural ash glaze. It is sparsely decorated with a pattern of triangular motifs on top of a row of concentric circles that are repeated on the shoulder and neck. Dating from the first half of the Unified Silla period (AD 668-918), which began when the kingdom of Silla unified the whole peninsula of Korea, the stamped decoration of circles and triangles is typical of wares from this time.
