Cup and saucer of soft-paste porcelain. Round the lower part of the cup and in the middle of the saucer is a wide band of gadroons in blue and gold; the rims are encircled by a narrow blue border with gilt leaf ornament, and the remaining surfaces are filled in with garlands of flowers and festoons of leaves.

Physical description
Cup and saucer of soft-paste porcelain. Production
The cup dates from about 1777 and the saucer from about 1777-1780: see Mitchell, Stephen. The Marks on Chelsea-Derby and Early Crossed Batons Useful Wares. London: SGM Books, 2007, Pls. 53(i) and 107 M4, where the gilding and mark on the cup are tentatively attributed to Thomas Soare.
